To Grow With Love

Ho Mei-tin, the only daughter of Ho Nim-heung, lives together with her father. Because Tin is overweight, her father has been taking care everything for her. And marriage certainly becomes one of his major concerns over his beloved daughter. However, Tin strongly believes in genuine love relationship. She hopes to find a man who can best understand her and share similar views with her. One day, she flies from the Philippines to Hong Kong to attend her old schoolmate, Carmen’s, wedding party. In fact, she wants to free herself from the control of her dad. Heung follows Tin to Hong Kong. During the travel, they encounter Tai Hei, who takes a strong dislike of fat people. Tin settles down at Lok’s home. Lok, who is Tin’s cousin, has just broken up with her boyfriend. She brings Tin together with her to join a speed dating party. Soon, Tin finds out that Lok is dating with more than one man at the same time. Hei is making a wedding dress for Carmen, his sister-in-law. Hei tells Tin frankly that she cannot fit the dress designed by him anyway. Tin is resentful. She alters the dress by herself, and it turns out to fit her perfectly. Hei gets mad and walks out. Tin encounters Lam Sum, who is looking for Tai Wong-ting and wanting to retaliate against him. Accidentally, Tin helps to bring reconciliation between both parties. On the other hand, Tin seems to have found her Mr. Right in Hong Kong…

Tin hurts Hei accidentally. She holds him up in her strong arms and brings him to see a doctor. Carmen and Tai Fu put the final touches on their wedding preparation. In order to make Carmen’s dream come true, Tin takes the boutonniere from the wedding dress of Carmen’s mother, and put it on the wedding gown designed by Hei. Holding a strong belief in finding the true love, Tin decides to stay in Hong Kong and find a job. On the day of her first job interview, she makes an exhibition of herself on a minibus. She is having a really bad day. She is given a contemptuous treatment during the interview. With the help of Carmen, Tin finally gets a job in D-day, the fashion company owned by Hei. She works as a saleswoman. She feels deeply embarrassed when she puts on a maternity dress given by Hei as her uniform. The conflict between the boss and the staff does not end. Tin wishes to tell Hei it can be harmful to the health of a staff by delaying lunch hour. Hei retorts that the feeling of hunger is just because fat people cannot control themselves well. Sum goes to D-day together with his son, Lam Koon-hei. He wants to buy a nice suit for attending Fu’s wedding party. Tin who does not know the inside story about the Tai’s and the Lam’s families, exposes that the wedding banquet is already a past. Sum boils with rage. He wants so much to retaliate against Ting. Ting tries to gloss over the dispute, yet Hei disrupts the reconciliation at last. Tin helps Fat Boy Hei to alter the clothes to fit him better. To take his revenge on the Tai’s family for not sending the wedding invitation, Sum uses the fashion from D-day as the uniform of his restaurant.

Hei is wrathful when he finds his design is being changed. He fires Tin after he has found out she is the one who has made the change. Yeung Sau-lan, who rent her flat to Tin, helps Tin to resolve the problem and secure the job. She threatens Hei with a possible complaint files to the Labour Department about the unreasonable lay off. Then, Tin plucks up her courage to demand Hei’s apology. Hei needs Tin to give up her job in his company. He resumes her duty and bets with her. If she can follow strictly his daily schedule for a week, he will make his apology to her. Early in the morning, Hei and Tin go to the swimming pool. Tin feels tired very soon. At this time, Tin is very excited to see Tseung Yat-tsun, whom she thinks is her Mr. Right. She chases Tsun and leaves Hei alone. Hei finds out his design is being imitated. In fact, it is deliberately done by Tseung Yat-ming, another owner of D-day. He does it because he wishes the D-day products to enter the international fashion market. Ming even asks Hei to hand him his designs for production. Tin gets extremely angry with Hei as Tsun mistakes her as a pregnant woman, she thinks it is all his fault. Tin accidentally deletes all the files of Hei’s designs that stored in the computer. Hei feels hopeless when he sees sloppy Tin. His only wish is her soon leaving…

Ming promises his younger brother Tsun to hire Tin as the junior fashion designer, even though Hei objects to the decision. Tin does her best to remedy the problems she has created. However, she is overreaching herself and makes Hei cannot concentrate on his work at all. Sung Man-yee accompanies Hei to the swimming pool. She helps Hei to get rid of the stress. Soon, the inspiration comes to Hei, and quickly he finishes his new designs. The new designs win high praise from Ming. Lan finds Heung is actually her ex-lover who left her without leaving a word. She decides to help Tin staying in Hong Kong and this has enraged Heung. In order to stay longer and to develop the love relationship with Tsun, Lan teaches Tin to lie to her father that she will be going back to the Philippines a month later and get marry by then. In fact, this is to postpone her stay in Hong Kong. Lok accompanies Tin to see Tsun. She falls in love with Tsun at first sight, and she is determined to win his love. Tin shares with Fu the tactics she has learnt from Lan. Fu plucks up his courage to speak to Hei about his suggestions. To his surprise, Hei accepts his opinions this time. Fu is able build up his confidence again. Tin has a dinner with the Tai’s family together. During the dinner, she tells Hei’s family members what should be the proper way to communicate with Hei. At this time, Hei is home and hears the comments from them. He feels very sad as he finds no one in the family understand him. Tin starts dating with Tsun…

On the day Tin has her first dating with Tsun, Tin encounters Hei who drunks himself badly. Tsun mistakes Hei for Tin’s lover, he rages and leaves. Tin gets Hei’s red packet lost when she is stopped by a police for an identity check. That night, she stays together with Hei and sleeps outside for a night long. Tin tells Lok about her bad luck after she has home. Lok takes the opportunity to get closer to Tsun, yet she is exposed by Tsun for dating with different guys at the same time. Hei finds out he has lost the red packet. Hei is very nervous. So, Tin helps him to search everywhere. The red packet is found, however, careless Tin drop the coin inside the red packet. Losing the valuable coin, Hei is in great sorrow. Tin understands the coin means the world to Hei as it filled with his childhood memory. Tin hopes to make Hei feel better by giving him her drawing. Hei is inspired by Tin, he learns how to relax himself and improve the relationship with his family. Lan urges Tin to explain to Tsun about the misunderstanding. Lok responses immediately that she can help to get it resolved. However, Lok does not say anything good about Tin, and even blackens Tin. Lan and Tin hear the conversation. Tin finally finds that Tsun is not the one who shares the same thoughts and feelings as she thought.

Tin is shocked after she has learnt that Tsun is not the one who made the hand imprints on the billboard. She does not want to go back home as Lan and Lok are still quarrelling. Hei and his family invite Tin to their home. Spending a night with such a warm family, Tin misses her home so much. Tin forces Hei to drink with her outside. She drunks herself and vomits onto his trousers. Hei has no choice but to stay together with Tin in a hotel reluctantly. On the phone, Heung finds Tin gets drunk. He is so worried about his daughter that he immediately flies to Hong Kong late at night. He does not expect he would have met Lan when he comes to Lok’s home. Lok is angry as she thinks Tin is dating with Tsun again without informing her. She brings Heung to see Tsun. It turns out as a big mistake as Tin is not staying with him. When Lan knows that Tin is actually staying with Hei, she deliberately misleads Heung to believe Hei is Tin’s boyfriend. Heung gives Lan a huge sum of money after he has learnt the economic difficulty she has. However, Lan refuse to accept the money and tears the bank cheque given by Heung. As she leaves, she shows a deep regret for not accepting the money.

Tin finds out at last it is Hei who painted the sunflowers on the picture. So, Tin speaks to Tsun directly that she wants to stop developing their relationship further. Lok is delightful to learn about it as she thinks she can get closer to Tsun. However, Tsun refuses Lok’s love. Finally, Tin, Lok and Tsun turn their relationships into pure friendship. Hei asks Tin’s help for making the clothes. Yee is not happy with Tin as everyone in D-day says Hei holds her in high regard. On the other had, Tin thinks that her performance is being recognized, she works even hard to finish her job. Tin helps Hei to find the coin he lost. Ming has invited Yee for dinner many times, yet without success. He is jealous of Hei. Heung scolds Hei when he knows that he is dating with Yee. He thinks Hei is cheating his daughter. Yee rages and leaves. Hei is very angry, he asks Tin why there is a big misunderstanding. Finally, he knows it is a pack of lies made by Tin. Hei makes it clear to Yee that he will never love Tin. He emphasizes it by saying he will not communicate with a pig. Tin’s heart sinks when she hears their conversation. Soon, she returns to the Philippines together with her father. Yee is making a business trip to the Philippines. Hei quietly flies to the destination to give her a surprise. In the Philippines, Hei encounters Fai. Then they have a road accident…

Fai and Hei are treated at the hospital. The staff at the hospital brings Tin to see Hei. On the other hand, Lan goes to the Philippines as she wants to stop Heung from forcing Tin to get marry with Fai. Tin visits Hei with Lan together. They find Hei has lost his memory after the accident. Soon, Hei encounters the driver who knocked him down. He mistakes Tin as his girlfriend afterwards. Lan urges Tin to take her revenge on Hei as it is a very good time. They dress Hei as a clodhopper. They trick him into believing he is junior to Tin in the company. Not even knowing the true identity, Hei has nowhere to go but to follow Tin back to her home. He is badly beaten up by Tin’s father. Without connected to Hei successfully, Yee continue with the marketing campaign of the coming season with Ming together after she has returned to Hong Kong. Ming introduces Tsun to Yee. She finds Tsun a suitable model to carry the new fashion design. On the other hand, Lok hopes to become the model so that she can get closer to Tsun. She decides to go on a diet. The severe dietary control has brought her dizziness and a weak body. Tsun and Fat Boy Hei help her to recover and prompt her to eat a healthy diet.

Tin always brings Hei to have fun together, and eat a lot. In the midnight, she alters his clothes to make them loose, so that he does not aware of weight gaining. Hei refuses to eat anymore after he has found the new trousers cannot fit him. Tin gets angry and leaves him in the mall. Poor Hei is robbed when he is alone. Tin feels extremely sorry about this. She makes a phone call to Lok to see if she can get dietary menu from her. Lok tells her about her problem with the diet. After the call, Tin is so worried about Lok’s health, she asks Fat Boy Hei to take care of her. Lok does not listen to the advice, she hopes Fat Boy Hei will go on a weight loss program with her together. Fat Boy Hei is badly beaten up by his dad. Because his dad has found in his pocket a promotional leaflet on weight loss program that left carelessly by Lok. Sum finds a strong hatred of weight loss related issues because his daughter died of anorexia. At last, Lok is able to become a model and has photo shooting with Tsun together. However, Ming and Yee finally give up using models to carry the new fashion design, but to hang the design on trees to deliver the idea of natural feeling. Lan is afraid that Tin will be hurt by Hei again, she reminds her not to treat Hei too good. However, Tin does not feel like achieving it well. Later, she learns about the love story of her dad. Then she goes together with Hei to find the place where the love story began, and it rains…

Hei is deeply moved by Tin as she is trying her best to keep the rain away from him. Therefore, Hei believes strongly the love relationship between them. Tin makes up a celebration dinner for Hei’s birthday, and give him her diary and the handmade dolls. Lan tells Tin it is the right time to defeat Hei when he cannot live without her. However, deep in Tin’s heart, she does not want to hurt Hei anymore. She goes to Hong Kong to seek help from Fat Boy Hei. He introduces his four best female friends to Lok. The ladies complain to Sum as they think Fat Boy Hei wants to develop a love relationship with Lok. Tin tells Fat Boy Hei about her troubles. Then, Lok teaches Fat Boy Hei to lie to his father that he has fallen in love with Tin. Sum is very happy about this, and let Fat Boy Hei to go to the Philippines with Tin together. Fat Boy Hei asks Tin to think it over as he knows Tin does not want to hurt Hei at all. Tin has made up her mind when she recalls those happy memories she had with Hei. In the Philippines, Hei is making a wedding dress for Tin to give her a surprise. Hei soon recalls all his lost memories when he has discovered the photo of Yee in the shop he went before. At this time, Tin brings Yee to see Hei. Hei rages and scolds her heavily. Poor Tin has a sinking heart.

Fai always dreams of the marriage with Tin when he is in a coma. Heung knows from a doctor that Fai may turn into paraplegia. He worries about Tin’s future if she is going to marry a disabled man. Lan persuades Tin to live together with her in Hong Kong. However, Tin is certain that her dad must not allow her to. At this time, Heung comes and brings Tin to Hong Kong. Tin takes the opportunity to make an agreement with her dad for her stay. Tin meets Fu in the airport. They give each other the souvenirs. On the other hand, Hei does not talk in detail about the happenings in the Philippines for fear that Yee will be unhappy. Tin finds the sunrise painting has gone missing. She immediately goes to Sum’s restaurant as she knows the Tai’s family is visiting him with the souvenirs. She hopes she can get it back. Sum brings Tin to the dinner gathering where she meets Hei again. Lok is writing a business proposal as she is striving for a promotion in her company. With Tin’s help, her proposal receives a high praise from her supervisor. The supervisor needs her to express her idea in more details. Lok turns to Tin again for help. And this has brought Tin the opportunity to develop her career as a wedding planner.

Fai emerges and proposes to Tin. Not until this moment does Tin know she is the bride. Fai tells Tin he is the man she is looking for, who can understand her the best. Lok and Heung persuade Tin to get marry with Fai, however, Tin feels very confused. Hei suggests that D-day should include big sizes in its product line in order to enter the international fashion market. However, Yee thinks his idea does not go very well with the brand image. Ming promotes Yee to a top management position. Tin is moved by Fai’s genuine love, she makes a wedding ring with a clip and gives it to Fai. Fai proposes to her with the handmade ring. What a coincident, Hei and Yee are in the same restaurant. Upon learning about a successful marriage proposal in the restaurant, Hei draws a sketch of wedding dress and gives it to the couple as a present. Tin and Hei do not see each other at last, but Tin knows it is Hei who gives her the sketch. Tin drunks herself badly in a karaoke, and says she does not want to get marry…

Tin is going to wear the wedding dress designed by Hei in her wedding. Carmen and Lok object to her. Carmen sends the wedding invitation to Sum. She meets Sweety, one of Fat Boy Hei’s female friends. Sweety tells her that she is jilted by her husband after she has given birth to her child and become fat. Carmen is nervous after hearing the story. Carmen and Fu quarrel. Fu thinks she no longer loves him. Lan reminds Tin to have second thoughts about whom is truly the man she loves. After the quarrel, Carmen suddenly goes missing. Fu does not know what to do and he accidentally leaks to Hei that Tin is getting marry soon. With efforts, Fu decides to hold the wedding ceremony with Carmen once again. And this time Carmen is wearing her mother’s wedding dress. Lan quietly takes a photo for Tin and Hei, and then send it to their cellular phones. Hei arranges a business trip to go with Yee together, and proposes again to her formally. Yee accepts him this time. On the wedding day, Fai finds Tin is wearing the wedding gown made by Hei. Tin flees from the groom in the last moment…

Heung faints from anger. He needs Tin’s apology to Fai immediately after he has regained consciousness. He feels very embarrassed in front of Fai’s parents. Yee pretends herself not care about the break up when Hei tells her he is going to end the relationship. On the other hand, Ming takes the opportunity to tell Yee about his love, but she says she needs only career and respect at the moment. Lan needs Hei buying up the flowers in her shop after she has learnt about their love story has begun. Tin is finally dismissed by her company. Lan allows Tin to start up with her own wedding planning business in her florist shop. Fai is sick and treated at the hospital. Tin visits him with Hei together. Meeting with Tin again, Fai wants to have her back. In order to melt her heart, he is not going to give her any pressures at all, but to devote his wholehearted effort to help her establishing her company in 24 hours. The anxious father urges Tin again to get married as soon as possible. One day, Tin makes a fool of herself in front of Hei’s fraternity. Fat Boy Hei and Lok encourage Sum to court Lan. When Tsun knows that Ming is trying to win Yee’s heart, he brings him to Lan’s florist shop for dating advice. So, Tin does vigorous boxing exercise and wishes to make herself looks beautiful and slender before the show. Without success, she keels over. Hei does not mind Ming dating Yee. Ming has a bet with Hei on the Hei’s new idea, if the large size fashion line turns out to be a failure, Hei has to transfer all the stocks he has in D-day to Yee, and resign. Hei takes the bet. Yee quietly discusses with Ming about the launch of a new fashion line by a new designer. One day, Tin meets Hei for a meal. Hei orders a table of food for her. However, she eats nothing. She takes away all the food and brings them to Fai. Fai asks Tin biting his arm as he knows that she is in great pain in front of the food temptation. He asks her to imagine that his arm is actually a piece of steak. He says her bite is the sign of his love. Fat Boy Hei asks Sum presenting Lan a bouquet of flowers. But Sum is timid to do so and finally sends her an anonymous bouquet.

With effort, Tin manages to lose some body weight. Fat Boy Hei finds himself has fallen in love with Lok. The Tai’s family asks Tin for help in making the new fashions as Hei is running short of manpower. Yee does not give Hei human resources support as she deliberately wants to drive him out of the fashion show. Hei does not speak to Tin about the bet he made with Ming because he does not want her to worry. The result of a marketing research shows that Hei’s idea got a fifty-fifty chance of winning. However, Yee does not disclose the result. Lan scolds Tin badly when she has learnt Tin is controlling body weight by drug. Tin cries, she is deeply moved by Fai’s effort in defending her. Yee deliberately misleads Tin about the poor prospect of the large size fashion and asks Tin to stop Hei. Tin has a quarrel with Hei. Unfortunately, she keels over again. Hei finally realizes that she is controlling weight all because of him. Tin does not want Hei to lose his career. She talks to Fai and he gives her a suggestion that she should go back to the Philippines.

Tin imagines Hei is doing whatever he can to please her, just like what Fai does. But it happens in her dream only. Tin receives a mobile phone message from Hei, but it is actually made up by Fai. Then she returns more than twenty pieces of message to Hei but receiving no responses. She is disappointed and goes back to the Philippines. Lok asks Sum why Fat Boy Hei goes missing, he tells her Fat Boy Hei is visiting Candy in Africa. This makes Lok jealous. Tsun is preparing a surprised wedding party for Sum as requested by Fat Boy Hei. And he successfully invites Lan, the bride-to-be, to join the party which she mistakes it as the wedding between Ming and herself. She is surprised to find that Sum and his staff are all dressed in formal suits. With the help of Tsun, Lok is able to find Fat Boy Hei. He tells her honestly he lost body weight all because of her. The, he proposes to her. Lan boils into rage after learning the truth behind the “wedding”. Sum sneaks out. Finally, Hei receives a big order for his new design. And, Yee admits the defeat.
